Night of January 16th

New York and Cleveland: The World Publishing Company, 1968. First Hardcover Edition. A Very Good copy of the first hardcover edition, first printing, in the Publisher's original cloth of this play by Ayn Rand, with a new introduction by Ayn
Rand, published here in its "final definitive form" for the first time. (A "Player's Book" edition was published earlier and, the Play ran on Broadway in 1935-36.) Far from being a typical Play, audience members are chosen to play the jury of a murder trial where the jurors make their determination of guilty or not guilty based solely on character testimony. The play's ending thus depends on the verdict rendered and one of the two different endings was performed in accordance with the jury's verdict. The Play provided the basis for the 1941 movie of the same name starring Robert Preston (of "The Music Man" fame.) A Very Good copy. Item #2683
