A Flag for Sunrise
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1981. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. A Very Good copy of the first edition, first printing, in a Very Good dust jacket with some modest wear to the spine ends and leading board corners in a very Good dust jacket with some rubbing and a tear to the front panel's lower portion, with a remainder stamp to the closed page block's bottom edge. "A Flag for Sunrise" was Robert Stone's third book, set in a fictional banana republic like Nicaragua. The novel won critical acclaim [it was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and the Pulitzer Prize, and was twice a finalist for the National Book Award, once following its hardcover release and again the next year when it was reissued in paperback.] but did not sell as well as did his first two novels ("A Hall of Mirrors" and "Dog Soldiers"). A Very Good copy. Very good / very good. Item #3553
