A Fine copy of the first edition, first printing of this work, in the Publisher's original green stapled wrappers (slight pushing to the leading corners, but easily still Fine), being copy 69 of 1,000 numbered copies issued, presenting a lecture by Bernard Malamud originally delivered by him at Bennington College as Lecture Seven in the Ben Belitt Lectureship Series on October 30, 1984 and published in Memory of William Troy [a National Book Award winner in Arts and Letters - for "Selected Essays" (1967, Rutgers University Press) who once taught at Bennington College]. Nicholas Delbanco provides the book's introduction, and Malamud, in his lecture, spoke of his life as a writer. The book also contains a page of Malamud manuscript reproduced in holograph facsimile, two reproduced photographs of Bernard Malamud, and a reproduced photograph of Bernard Malamud with Ben Belitt (for whom the lecture series is named) at Bennington College in 1981. We seldom see copies in a condition as nice as is this copy. Fine. Item #830
