An about Fine copy of The Princeton University Library Chronicle for Autumn 1951, with some pushing and tiny tears to the wrapper's overhangs, being Eddie Lazare's copy with his signature in pencil to the front wrapper. This issue contains the highly-notable Article by Warren Weaver titled "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland; Its Origin and Its Author" (being an Address given by Weaver in New York City on April 7, 1949 to the Century Association -- slightly modified for this publication). The volume also contains an illustration of pages from "Alice" in Swahili from Warren Weaver's collection). The issue also contains a Frontispiece of the Liddell Sisters (who, while, in their childhood, and being in a boat with Lewis Carroll -- Charles Lutwidge Dodgson -- being rowed by Reverend Robinson Duckworth. While passengers in the boat the then 10-year-old Alice Liddell asked Charles Dodgson (who wrote under the pen name Lewis Carroll) to entertain her and her sisters, Edith (aged 8) and Lorina (13), with a story. Carroll then regaled the sisters with fantastic stories of a girl named Alice, and her adventures after she fell into a rabbit-hole. He later adapted the story as "Alice in Wonderland" for commercial purposes. Edward ("Eddie") Lazare edited American Book Prices Current, an important literary resource.
