Newport, Rhode Island: Self-Published. First Edition, First Printing. Wrappers. A Fine copy of the first edition, the first edition. The volume was printed for Pryce-Jones by The Third & Elm Press of Newport, Rhode Island (where he then lived), in December 1973 in an unknown number of copies. Described by the New York Times as an "Eminent Man of Letters, Alan Pryce-Jones was a book critic, author, and journalist who for ten (10) years [1948 to 1959] served as Editor of the prestigious London Times Literary Supplement and also was a Liberal Party politician and an author. He worked as an intelligence staff officer at the Bletchley decoding centre and died at age 91 on February 13, 2000 in America and many of his papers are held in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University.
